Donalda Cemetery – Information & Burial Process

The Village of Donalda Cemetery is operated and maintained by the Village to provide a respectful and well-cared-for resting place for loved ones. The following information outlines how to arrange a burial and the key regulations governing the cemetery.

Burial Availability

Interments at the Donalda Cemetery are permitted:

  • May through October only
  • During regular working hours
  • Not on weekends or statutory holidays

Interments are not permitted during the winter months (November–April) due to ground conditions.

Arranging a Burial

To schedule an interment, the following steps are required:

  1. Confirm or purchase a cemetery plot
    Plots must be owned prior to burial. The Village Office can assist with availability and purchase.
  2. Submit an Application for Interment
    A minimum of one (1) week’s notice is required.
  3. Provide required documentation
    • Burial Permit / Death Certificate
    • Cemetery plot documentation
    • Any applicable monument applications
  4. Pay applicable fees
    Fees include interment, perpetual care, and any additional services.

In most cases, your funeral home will coordinate these arrangements with the Village on your behalf.

Monuments & Markers

  • All monuments require Village approval prior to installation

The Village is responsible for general cemetery maintenance, including:

  • Landscaping and mowing
  • Tree and shrub management
  • General upkeep of cemetery grounds

Rules are in place regarding decorations, plantings, and items placed on graves to ensure safety and consistent maintenance.
