Assessment Complaints

Assessment Review Board Complaint Form

The Assessment Review Board Complaint Form is used to formally appeal an assessment. Property owners who believe their assessment is incorrect may submit this form during the complaint period identified on their assessment notice.

A completed complaint form, together with the applicable filing fee, must be received by the complaint deadline shown on the assessment notice.

Agent Authorization Form

The Agent Authorization Form is used when a property owner wishes to appoint another person to act on their behalf regarding an assessment complaint. This may include a family member, lawyer, accountant, property manager, or assessment consultant.

The authorization form permits the designated agent to communicate with the municipality, obtain assessment information, and represent the property owner throughout the complaint process.

Which Form Do I Need?

  • If you are filing your own assessment complaint, complete the Assessment Review Board Complaint Form.
  • If someone will be acting on your behalf, complete both the Assessment Review Board Complaint Form and the Agent Authorization Form.
  • If you only wish to authorize someone to discuss your assessment with the municipality, but are not filing a complaint, only the Agent Authorization Form is required.
